How to check a tutor before booking
Before arranging tuition, parents, carers, and students should make their own enquiries and satisfy themselves that a tutor or tuition provider is suitable.
Identity and contact details
Confirm who will provide the tuition, how they can be contacted, where lessons will take place, and whether the details match any documents or online profiles provided.
Qualifications and experience
Ask for relevant qualifications, teaching experience, references, exam board experience, specialist knowledge, and examples of how lessons are planned.
Safeguarding and practical arrangements
Discuss DBS certificate details where relevant, safeguarding training, supervision, online safety, insurance, cancellations, payment arrangements, and how concerns should be raised.
